Bread That Heals: Why I Call My Loaves Real Mermaid Food

Updated: Aug 30, 2025

medicine.

When I hold buckwheat groats in my hands, or sprouted grains in a bowl, I feel ancient voices whispering. I feel the land feeding me in a way no machine or packet ever could. My loaves are dense, earthy, alive — and yes, they are real mermaid food.

Why “mermaid food”? Because the sea has always been my teacher. The octopus on my logo isn’t an accident — it’s wisdom, adaptability, and mystery woven into my brand. The ocean calls us back to our source, just like ancient grains do. Mermaid food is food that carries minerals, medicine, and mystery. It isn’t fluffy white bread; it’s deep, grounding nourishment.

I remember when I first discovered the drastic change in gluten today — how modern wheat, sprayed with toxic farming practices, isn’t the same grain our ancestors ate. I learned how eating that kind of gluten can trigger insulin problems and cause inflammation almost immediately. That truth shook me. It opened my eyes to how even something as sacred as bread has been broken by greed and chemicals. That’s why I turned to buckwheat, whole wheat, sprouting, fermenting — to restore what bread was meant to be.

Even if someone doesn’t “like” the taste at first, I know their body still recognizes it. The minerals enter their blood, the energy enters their spirit. My bread carries prayer, intention, and the healing force God gave me. It’s not just bread — it’s witness.

🌱 Why Buckwheat?

  • Gluten-free, mineral-rich, grounding

  • Sprouted buckwheat unlocks nutrients and sweetness naturally

  • Buckwheat bread is denser than supermarket bread — but that’s why it’s real

When you bite into a slice, you’re not eating fluff — you’re eating roots and resilience.

✝️ My Faith in Every Loaf

Jesus called Himself the Bread of Life. When I bake, I remember that He is the true nourishment. My bread is just an echo, a reminder that the earth itself is holy when we let it be.
